I can’t believe it took me this long to read this. I love me a mafia dark romance. I love me an unhinged Italian man that’s obsessed with his woman. Give me one of these every day of the fucking week. Nico. Fucking. Russo.

Ummm I can’t quite figure out why this book is loved so much on TikTok…but maybe it’s just me. Maybe I’m the problem. Cause for me, it was a solid “ok/mid” book.

So don’t get me wrong I think Danielle Lori is a good author. Her writing isn’t what made me not love this book. Frankly I think I liked this book solely because of her writing lol, cause the plot honey, it was something that’s for sure.

So me personally, I couldn’t get behind the main couple until after they got engaged because I don’t care that it was an arranged engagement or not, that man was still very much engaged to her sister and she and him had no business acting the way they were. It was cheating on his part and betrayal on her part. And yes I know her sister didn’t even want him, I do not care, it’s about the principle. You don’t try and seduce your sister’s fiancé. It’s just plain wrong.

So up until Elena and Nico got engaged instead of him and her sister, I was not into at all. I’m truly surprised I got into it at all even after their engagement and marriage lol but that’s a testament to Lori’s talent.

Anyway, 3.5 stars baby, 3.5 stars 🌟
