Overall, the book was good. It wasn't what I was expecting and as someone that will never work in the fast paced-high paying world of tech or high management,I didn't feel that it mattered so much to me. It was good in that I can see that some of my own supervisors have read this book and put it to use.

📚Who This Book is For: Anyone who is a leader or aspires to leadership

✏️Review: Anyone who has heard me talk about leadership has head me mention this book (and podcast). I recently revisited the book as I spend more time returning to my work of training and guiding leaders and I'm grateful that I did.
I hold this book and its framework as foundational to how I talk to people about leadership. The concepts are clearly outlined with well considered examples and concrete steps to take. It focuses on getting good work done, yes, but not at the sake of your humanity as a leader nor the humanity of other team members. It also has a really helpful section regarding how to get started with Radical Candor which I also recommend.
For me, leadership is such an integral piece of thinking about humans and how we do because most adults work and many do or want to work in environments where they feel seen, valued, and supported. Those who are leaders have the opportunity and responsibility to create that.

🗒️Main Take-Aways:
📌Care Personally + Challenge Directly
📌Start by soliciting feedback for yourself and demonstrating trustworthiness
📌Teach teams about Radical Candor for framework and accountability
📌Showing that you pay attention is a form of caring and investment in staff and the work

Of limited use for me, as I don't manage anyone. The name-dropping got old pretty quickly, and I just skimmed the second half. More useful if you're a manager.

3.5 stars. Some of the stories felt disconnected from the tenets she put forth. Overall some good value but only portions of it are applicable from my perspective.
