Of this book, I liked the end above all, because in the meantime so many things had happened that I had got confused between the various plots and subplots.
Also, Irene and Kai seem anything but a couple, so even from that point of view the book seemed to me rather lacking. We'll see how it goes on, which I don't seem to see a purpose in all this telling.

I normally love me an Invisible Library book, but this one felt slightly slower and less interesting to me. I think perhaps it's because instead of pulling in Silver and Vale - frequent characters in the previous books - this one brought in a whole new cast of characters, and i just wasn't as invested in them. I'm still interested in continuing to read the series, but overall, this chapter of the series fell a bit flat for me.

Trying to get the Fae and dragons to cooperate is like herding cats, if some of the cats are gasoline and the others are fire. Things go well.

The new treaty between the Dragons, the Fae, and the Library seems to be holding, but there’s no rest for Irene. She is assigned to acquire a book from a private collector’s collection, but finds herself joining a group to perform an art heist as her “fee” for the book. It’s an eclectic group, and she must figure out who she can trust in order to get the job done. But then the target is not what it seems, and people are not what they seem, and there are some truths that come to light, and it all gets very complicated by the end.

This is a heist novel, with lots of James Bond influence. It’s fun, but I did not enjoy it as much as previous books in the series.
