I wanted to like this book but I just didn’t. Summary was promising, execution was poor. Hated most of the characters, & especially Grace. Once what “happened to her” was revealed, it just didn’t seem like as big of a deal & it wasn’t explained all that well. Like others said, the back and forth narration made it very confusing at first, & I don’t think it added much to the story. Not my favorite.

Dang this book was pretty good! I’m glad the ending wasn’t a let down but man these characters are stupid I caught on to things really easy like how did these people not think of these things ? Why the lies ? Huh??

Who We Were in the Dark is not necessarily bad, but it doesn't address a core question...why should I care about this particular narrative and its characters.

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really good book, I read it in 16 hours (total) I was confused at some parts, and the book wasn’t really that suspenseful. The ending did feel underwhelming, but it was a pretty good journey overall!

This was more of a soft/light thriller, but it still was enjoyable!

Coming of age story. More mystery than thriller. Had some sad moments.
