At first I was kind of "eh" about this collection. Mainly because some of the art wasn't my cup of tea and the stories left me feeling unsatisfied.
But after reflecting on the collection as a whole and looking back at what I just read, it all came together and worked.
I miss seeing the core characters but I loved having the opportunity to see more of the world of Mouse Guard.
Fingers crossed that one day we get the stories that the covers hinted towards.

I really love the variety of artists who contributed to this book. The stories were interesting and fit very well into the current Mouse Guard universe. I love everything about this series and this spin-off works quite well.

Super cute. I love the short story premise and the variety of illustrations (not that the original illustrations were anything to scoff at!)
5.0 —One of the best I've ever read. Will be burned into my brain. Couldn't care less about weaknesses (if any). Would recommend to everyone and their mother.

Guest writers and artists create a collection of short stories based on the Mouse Guard world created by David Peterson. As will all such compilations, I preferred some of the stories to others, but the overall package is a nice one. And, as with Peterson's own work, quite beautifully done.

My favorite story in this collection was the first one that was about the forming of the guard. I liked seeing the styles of the different artists applied to the Mouse Guard world. I also liked the shout-out to "Osric". I found some stories more enjoyable than others, but that will happen with any collection.

Reminded me in some ways of the Redwall series. I thought the illustrations were spot on and each story was unique and interesting. I have never read any of the Mouse Guard books before, but will definitely be seeking them out.
