I started this book in the beginning of August and was still halfway through at the beginning of October. The story line was okay but I definitely had to force myself to keep reading it. In no way whatsoever did it pull you in and make you want to keep reading. Needless to say, this is one of her worst books and totally not worth the read. I didn't even finish the book and I do not intend to.

A challenging and intense book to read. This book is about a guy called Shay Bourne who was being put onto a death sentence because of murder. His spiritual advisor, Father Michael, wanted to help him to salvation. Maggie, an ACLU laywer, wanted to bring up the issue of death penalty. But both have learnt an unusual side about Shay - the way he behaved and his actions were like Jesus.
A well-researched book written by Picoult has brought out the complicated links between the State, religion and history. Picoult has challenged my belief, not about whether God existed, but about how what we believe come about, and how it can affect our relationships with others. This is also a book about love, hurt, vengeance, forgiveness and sacrifice.
I have given this book a four-star because it left me with more confusing thoughts than a fulfilling closure. Yet I enjoyed this book thoroughly. The characters are well-developed. There's Maggie who is a lawyer but struggles with body image issues. Father Michael who was trying to reconcile with his own past decision. The human flaws made the story real. And I really enjoyed the part where the inmates were conversing and interacting with each other.
I think this book would be a great book club book, or a book to be discussed with others. If you have read it, please let me know what you think!

I thought I would never say this about a picoult book but I really loved it. The story had a lot of sticky topic's religion, doubt of a priest, captial murder and the second chances of heart donation. I would like to say it ends for the best but we all know her books don't and this one is no diffrent but you walk away with understanding the choices of each book.

Personally, I love to read a good Jodi Picoult to bring me back into a reading streak, if I’ve been in a bit of a slump.
Her books always get me thinking about my own take on different “controversial” topics in society. They’re an excellent way of getting you to think about from different perspectives. “What would I do if I were in that position?”
In doing so it makes you realize that sometimes the judgments you’re so quick to make about what other people are doing in their lives is not as easy when you’re in their shoes.
As always, I find her reads very easy to get through and near impossible to put down. I love the character development, the depth that she explores their challenges in and the topics that she explores, and this book was no different. The death penalty isn’t something that I’m very versed in and so I appreciated reading this novel and thinking about its impact on society, on families, and on anybody involved in the processes. An interesting twist to this as well was the way that she explored the nature of religion through the main character, Shay, and those that he interacted with.

After having read a few Picoult books, the recipe is known and therefore the outcome becomes clear after a few pages. This is readable enough, but extremely predictable.

I love [author: Jodi Picoult]. I just find her so readable, I have the hardest time putting her books down, and just enjoy them so much. When my husband gave me the ARC of this book I needed to save it for the moment I want a book to fly through. Vacation in Maui was perfect timing.
Change of Heart was just like meeting up with an old friend for coffee. Familiar and enjoyable. There was a little bit of Keeping the Faith in there, along with some My Sister's Keeper and probably a few of her other books that I haven't read yet. Regardless I really enjoyed it and read it in one day.
Jodi Picoult fans will not be disappointed!

I thought this audiobook started off slow, but about 1/2 way through I really started to enjoy the story. It was an interesting opinion on the death penalty and religion.
