I was quite surprised at the spelling mistakes in the book.
I felt like the MFC digressed in this book even though it was meant to be an emotional battle of self confidence and maturity.

idk man this book was fun but some of it really irked me. I loved the development of some of Persephone's relationships with other gods, particularly with Apollo. and even though it was deeply uncomfortable at times to witness, I did enjoy watching Persephone step into herself a little more as she made some life-altering decisions. I also LOVED the way Hecate acted as a maternal-ish person to Persephone. the way she both comforted Persephone and offered her advice in times of need felt like being wrapped in a warm hug.

her relationship with Hades in this book though, THAT is what got on my nerves. like I said in my review for A Touch of Darkness, Hades x Persephone is really giving off Rhys x Feyre (for example: "I was so scared, I couldn't sense you" ARE YOU KIDDING??). I loved seeing them grow together and I loved how this book highlights the wild difference in their ages/life experiences. however, what pissed me off is that every. single. serious conversation was punctuated by sex!! it just didn't feel realistic (I don't care that this is fiction) for how those conversations would go, and it felt almost whiplash-y, because I'd be crying about a fight they were in and suddenly his dick was out!! like girl, what??

all that being said, this was an enjoyable read, and it was a good reminder of how dumb and fun reading can be. I may or may not continue the series, fk around and find out.

Hades was honestly the only thing that pulled this up to 2.25 stars.

Very predictable because it was so similar to the first/second books (which I loved) but I was hoping for the story to have moved on a bit.

Persephone was incredibly repetitive and where I found her quirky previously it was veering towards unlikeable for me this time around.

TW: I also found it incredibly distasteful with the sex scene right after her BEST FRIEND committed suicide?!

Persephone was kind of annoying in this book. She was very demanding and quick to blame others instead of communicating her needs. Hades says “Darling” too much.

Otherwise, I like the new friendships in this book. I can’t wait to hear more about the war in the next book.

This one isn’t as good as the others. It’s a bit repetitive, and very long and drawn out in the middle. I do like that we’re seeing a bit more of the world past Persephone’s whining, but I’d still like more. Meg Sylvan does an absolutely amazing job narrating the audio book though.
