This series started off really strong and entertaining, but it's really dropped off with this book. I skimmed most of it because of three reasons:

1. The plot was dull. I wish the crimes in general they dealt with got more creative but they all just sort of start meshing together to the point that it's hard to remember which one goes to which book, and this one is probably the most forgettable of them.

2. While the concept of the psychopath assassin family was always silly, which was always made extra silly by their group moments that got ridiculous and out of hand with them all present, the introduction of them having a psychopath assassin training school that was government funded was laugh out loud stupid.

3. From the get go, Mac gave me the ick. I never got the ick from any of the guys involved in these pairings before, but Mac was maximum ick. He and Archer had negative chemistry together. Archer deserved soooo much better than having a icky, shitty ship with Mac.

I got one book to go, so I'll finish this all out but if this book was earlier in the series, it definitely would have made me drop the whole thing faster than a hot potato.

First off, I cannot believe this book ended like that and I have to wait to read the next one! Secondly, this book was so good! It had a slightly different vibe from the others because of the fact that we don't get to see Archer and Mac's first interaction but it was still amazing and that didn't take away from their relationship growing and me falling in love with them.  I was looking forward to reading this one because I wanted to see how the drunk brother saw things and I was not expecting what I got. So that made reading Archer's story so much better! This book had a couple of twists that just blew my mind. I didn't see them coming at all! I loved that! It was a real rollercoaster of a book but in the best way possible! Finally, this book introduced us to a new world that is explored in another series by Onley James and I cannot wait to visit those characters and see how they differ from the Necessary Evils characters.

Finally! We got Archer's story and it was not what I expected at all! I loved him and Mac so much! And the drunken shenanigans that happened were perfect! I hope we get a spin-off series about those involved in the government project! Also, I am dying to get my hands on Aiden and Thomas's book because I NEED to know what their story is!

Disliked - Forced myself to finish. The book was problematic for me in terms of connecting with both main characters Archer and Max AND the storyline. I kept reading because I was mildly curious at some points which kept pushing me to finish the book.

Archer and Mac spent most of book bumping uglies at expense of a storyline that was more or less a regurgitation of another book in the series.
