È stato il mio primo libro di Grazia Deledda, e certamente non l'ultimo. Più proseguivo nella lettura, più e più diventava gradevole ed affascinante la narrazione, nella descrizione dei paesaggi, nell'attenzione verso l'introspezione dei personaggi, il realismo e la naturalezza con cui ogni cosa avveniva e veniva raccontata. Le ultime 20 pagine racchiudono il climax della vicenda e della narrazione, sia in fatto di trama, sia per la capacità descrittiva dell'autrice. Come già detto, mi ha aperto la strada verso la sua produzione letteraria!

This was my first book from Deledda's work – and certainly not the last. The more I went on with my reading, the more the narration and the style grew on me, with the fascinating, almost poetic descriptions of the settings, the attention towards the introspection of the characters, the realism put in narrating the events and the actions of the protagonists. The last 20 pages could be considered the climax of the story, both plot-wise and regarding the descriptive ability of the author. As I said, this was just the first of her books that I plan to read!
