Black Ties and Lullabies by Jane Graves

5.0

I fell in love with this story pretty quick. Normally this type of story line can fall in the "campy" category but I was happily surprised to find it didn't go there. Employee has a one night stand with Uber rich playboy type, she gets pregnant, refuses his money but he inserts himeself in her life.

I have read these stories where the characters are so selfish and their motivations make no sense. In the beginning I wanted to konk their heads together, not because they would fall in love, but becasue they weren't really listening to each other.

The dialogue was funny, no dwelling on personal hang ups. (when characters repeat their fears in their internal monologue a bazillion times), humor, and enough heartstring pulls to get me through.

Side note my sister recenlty had twins and I work in a hospital, there were a few tidbits about the pregnancy that were inacurate, but made for a good story.

Definitly going to check out some other Jane Graves
