This was a reread of an older Hogan essay collection (1995). It's not my favorite Hogan and, tbh, it hasn't aged terribly well. There are some beautiful passages, but some concerns and viewpoints seem dated. In many places, it doesn't sound like what I think of as Hogan's voice. Too much Loren Eisley and similar folks for my tastes. If I decided to part with any of my Hogan books, this would likely be the first to go...
