The Modern Girl's Guide to Magic by Linsey Hall

3.0

Not my cuppa.

I absolutely adored Boris, and all the magical plants.

But.

The plot, the pacing, the romance, the trials, the angst, and the characters were all just a little vanilla. Which is a fine flavor, but not when it's every flavor.

Aria was... nice. Callan had the personality of a (slightly obsessive stalkerish) mulchy leaf. There were honestly a few times where I lost track of which pov I was reading because they were both so bland and had no individual voice.

Should've given this a two, but it was a super quick and cozy read. And the plants were amazing.
