First Snow by Bomi Park

4.0

Beautiful illustrations paired with active language gives this book a calm magic and makes reading this debut picturebook just as amazing as making a snow-person in fresh, fluffy snow.

Bomi Park's aesthetic reminds me a lot of Akiko Miyakoshi, whose minimal color palettes and sketchy charcoals also make the mundaneness of the natural world extraordinary, imbued with glimmers of excitement and magic, if you only know where to look.

But I saw someone say this would make a great pair with THE SNOWY DAY, and I agree wholeheartedly!
