Just Another Missing Person by Gillian McAllister
Did not finish book. Stopped at 13%.
I was just not having a good time with this book, which is disappointing after Wrong Place Wrong Time. Might be just me or where my mind is at right now, but the writing was really confusing me. The sentences and paragraphs felt fragmented and clumsily put together. I constantly had to reread to make sense of what was going on. Using a ton of commas does not necessarily elevate your prose. And once again, she uses 'jaded' to describe the characters. There are other words, babes. Speaking of characters, I felt like she tried too hard to make Julia seem like a good person. It was just an overload of her telling the reader how moral and uncorrupted she is, but simply telling it isn't enough. At least space out the praise and don't dump it on me all at once.
One thing I did like is that she didn't drag the mystery of Genevieve to the end, but it was not enough to turn this around for me.
