I really enjoyed this book a lot!! I loved our main character Gavin whom I viewed as a big victim of the circumstances. His high school girlfriend gets pregnant but doesn’t tell him, lies to another guy that was friends with Gavin saying that it was actually his child, runs away to utah with him, has her kid, steals 100k from a drug dealer, runs back to NY & gets other friends involved, all while never telling Gavin any of this. Gavin essentially goes on a hunt trying to find Anna after he finds out that it’s his kid 10 years later. I loved this literary thriller but Anna might be one of my least favorite characters i’ve ever read. I can’t stand characters who fuck up everyone’s life and take no accountability for it. Everyone in this book seemed to constantly enable her shitty choices and insist on bailing her out of every situation. One of them wants to give up 100k of their own money to pay back what she stole, her sister ropes in a random 13 years later old girl to serve as a decoy against the drug dealer for her, and another dude literally KILLS someone to help her. And after all that she really couldn’t care less. Like hello she was so annoying and entitled and a huge bitch who resented Gavin for not knowing she was pregnant 10 years ago after literally never telling him…. um what how is any of this his fault???? I was so happy at the end when Gavin tried to hold her accountable and then just ended up leaving her in the dust. It’s what that lame Anna deserved:/ I really liked the storytelling and can’t wait to read more books by her!!
