Letters to Milena by Franz Kafka
emotional
reflective
sad
slow-paced
4.0
This book was soooooo lovely, so much romance but also a lot of sadness, especially towards the end. You can tell how in love he was with her (even if she was already married, and 13 years…… younger than him….).
It would have been so helpful to hear Milena’s letters too, along with perhaps a little context into Kafka’s life at the time of the letters.
It was slow at times, but letters generally are, so that was to be expected.

“I’m just walking around here between the lines, underneath the light of your eyes, in the breath of your mouth like in some beautiful happy day, which stays beautiful and happy even if my head is sick.”
