My Daddy Rules the World: Poems about Dads by Hope Anita Smith
5.0
Honestly idk how Smith gets these paper torn illustrations so perfectly precise. They're magnificent. I also love the variety of representation: Smith includes all skin types, and not every dad & child "match." For me, this reinforces the truth that families come in all shapes, colors, and sizes, and whether related by blood or not, whether children resemble their parents or not, the love a parent has for their child trumps all other considerations.
I hate holiday-marketed books, but this is truly an excellent gift for dads and dad-types everywhere for Fathers' Day, or any day.
