Beneath the Stars by Emily McIntire
3.5
I am so glad I ended up reading this book. I didn’t know this was a re-release and I had read a review that obliterated this book 4 years ago. It came up on my Libby and I decided to give it a shot.
It was a lot of what I have read before and so it was enjoyable. I really hate the miscommunication trope, especially when all it takes is a simple clarification by a phone, text, letter or in your face.
I was disappointed in the FMC because she is a pretty tough person. Telling ppl exactly how she feels…no filter. But the moment Chase’s sister expresses her feelings to her about their relationship or when his college friend flat out shows her true color, she says nothing to the one person that needed to know. Also, I feel like the MMC gave up too fast. Knowing that she was going through a devastating time, he could have given her space and explained himself to her or his best friend…etc
You love coming of age romance? This is definitely for you and I recommend it.
