The writing was dense beyond belief, and felt to detract from the substance of the book. It was very poetic, but repetitive and overly confusing in places - at times I had no idea what was going on. Some passages really grabbed me and those were the ones with clarity.
Another thing that lessened my interest in this book was that it was all for a man. And a married man at that. I strongly believe that Barker cannot be worth this level of poetic gushing and anguish.

This was a very entertaining book, and was incredibly quick to read because of it. However, the plot twist felt cheap due to the way it was written in the beginning of the book.

The writing was very engaging but the numerous coincidences and plot twists got to be a bit much - they no longer added anything meaningful to the story. But it was fun to read and very tense at times!!

I really loved the imagery of this book, as well as the overall writing style. The ending fell a bit flat for me and I was constantly wishing for more than information about the main character, but that's a personal preference and not something that would necessarily make the book better.
