Very insta love and pretty predictable but this was a fun little spicy read with just a hint of magic.

I was going to give this a four but then I realized it was just my grumpy, jaded self being overly picky. This is a lovely little fairy tale. And if you read it as such, it's an adorable, sweet, and slightly spicy, story about two lonely souls who bring each other back to life.

3.5. I really liked the story in this one and the writing was good. Just... Ian was kind of a jerk and they spent little time together (or at least it seemed that way).

I tried. I really did. But Huxley was just an asshole. Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes but not like this. He was just awful. Threw in the towel at 26%.

1.5. Even masters of their craft aren't perfect. I loathed this book in 1992 and my second reading 30ish years later has not changed that opinion.

Equal parts utterly ridiculous and kind of awesome. The plot is a Cinderella murder mystery set in, well, trying to figure it out will probably give you a headache. But if you want a fun, entertaining read with a little romance on top of the whodunnit, this book will check all the boxes.

While there were a few things I was side-eyeing hard (introducing two of the characters by including their bra size? Whyyyyy?), I overall loved the book. The leads had good chemistry and the secondary characters had a purpose beyond just being there while they wait for their story to be told in future books in the series.

It's meh. I liked Emmie and her fun bookish shirts but everything else falls short for me. The plot is clunky and Ox is, well, kind of a jerk.

Yikes. I don't even know what to say about whatever this book is trying to be.

Adorable. Soooo many tropes. And we get some demisexual representation, HUZZAH! There were some frustrating moments but overall, I thought this was a delightful read.
