3.75/5! Loved this one because the Nico-type book boyfriends are my absolutely favorite types of book bfs. At times, the writing felt a little juvenile and I found that there were a lot of descriptive scenes that were unnecessary. But I still loved Nico & Elena together! Can’t wait to read the next one!

i am obsessed with this book. here are my intial thoughts:

1. nico could literally run me over and i would thank him for his service to the mafia
2. the abellis need to adopt me i love them
3. nonna needs her own book
4. why does adriana remind me of elain? she just wants to be with her gardener y'all leave her be
5. get you a man who burns down a gas station for you xx
6. NICO COULD RUN ME OVER AND I WOULD THANK HIM FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE MAFIA


good chemistry between the characters, no insta-love (thank god) and a guy who isn't a total asshole? um yes please. elena and nico work perfectly with each other and i loved their relationship developing throughout the book.

5 stars! easily one of my best reads of 2021. highly recommend!

I really wanted to love it after the hype surrounding it on TIk Tok but it just didn’t do it for me. I did manage to finish it, however there were multiple times I almost gave up. The storyline surrounding the Elena’s ‘ex lover’ also referred to as ‘him’ also really disappointed me. I don’t know what I was expecting from it but it didn’t give me what I was hoping for.

It's mostly a "dark" romance but hardly dark, and very little mob activity. You don't see any mob business besides the men throwing fists and pointing guns. It's nothing special and follows your typical possessive mob don with a soft spot for his girl.

I gave it 3 stars because of the drama and some interesting side characters, which kept me reading.

ur average mafia romance, wasnt a lot of substance but was still interesting. i wish there was more behind the scenes and external outlooks on what was going on between families
