It was definitely interesting to read the story of Sindbad, especially since I've grown up listening to it being compared to the Odyssey. The misogyny in it is more shocking than I've encountered in a long time, which is to be expected in a story that old, but it still made me cringe. However, I do feel like I've gained a lot from reading it, especially since towards the end I started thinking about Bilbo Baggins as a fantasy Sindbad. I think there's quite a lot of material in that thought, but it's for another time.

Although One Thousand and One tales is a well-worn and written story made of stories, this particular addition is lacking emphasis. It reads like a textbook, which on the bright side makes the comparison of similarities between books of other antiquity and this one much more evident.
