I may come back to this one another time. I really love Garth Nix, but for some reason this one just didn’t work for me.

Ótimo livro para começar o ano. Muito engraçadinho e divertido, ia ler ele na #MLV mas não consegui esperar.

Fourteen-year old LaVaughn takes a job babysitting for seventeen-year old Jolly and her two kids. Beautifully written in a "prose" style-- a free-form, poetic, natural language.

An interesting first entry of a series. Enjoyable start that has me wanting to read the rest of the series

I first read this book in early high school and distinctly remember thinking it was weird, dark, and a bit scary. Having now read it as an adult, I can confirm that it is weird, dark, and a bit scary.

At first this book is rather confusing and hard to imagine, about halfway through it becomes pretty interesting and was able to keep my attention more. I'm assuming more will be revealed in the other 6 books. Its a very out of the box book in my opinion.

After the Sabriel series I figured I'd just slip into something else by Nix. These seem a bit younger, but definitely not condescending. They remind me a bit of The Phantom Tollbooth, but not, well, condescending. Like if Gaiman wrote The Phantom Tollbooth. Sort of. I'm not explaining this well.
