This was too slow, repetitive, and boring for me.

Treat Braden is my all time favorite Braden. With the original Lovers at Heart, he won me over with his persistence, his strength, and his love of family. With the Reimagined version of Lovers at Heart, he just won me over again. I love that Melissa Foster took an original story and re-wrote it to make it into a story that fits the characters better. In rewriting the story, Melissa Foster did not take anything away from Treat and Max’s story but instead took characters and built on their story making it just as wonderful as the original.

The rest of the Braden family are all found within Treat’s story and of course, my second favorite Braden, Hal the father, makes a huge appearance. The wisdom, the strength, and the love of this family is so strong, so real, and so beautiful. I can hear Hal’s strong and firm voice that is so full of love and respect for those that he is talking to. His words lay the groundwork for all the other Braden family members.

Melissa Foster re-wrote a book that was already a fan favorite. Anyone who read the first writing of the story will find the second writing just as wonderful.

How often do you get the chance to visit with old friends? Lovers at Heart, Reimagined felt like going home again. Max and Treat have always held a special place within my heart. After all they are the reason my love affair with Melissa Foster got it's start. At first meeting two out of sync personalities make a deep connection. The match is less than ideal, but hopelessly overpowering. When facing forever, will they allow themselves to be vulnerable? Or will fear get in the way of what their hearts want? It's fitting that Max and Treat were the beginning, because like a rose at first bloom, my love for this series continues to grow.

Drama for no reason other than imagined slights and imagined realities feels really juvenile as a basis for any relationship. These two characters act like 13 year olds in love for the first time who fight because they like the emotional angst and drama of being hurt. I just can't.

I've read other books by this author before and enjoyed them, but while this book is somewhat enjoyable, I think there are some issues with continuity, holes in the story and description of the book itself. The book is listed as Book One in the series, but it's obvious that there is another book out there with the two main characters (Max and Treat) in it, which leads to holes in the story and questions as to why these characters are motivated to act towards each other like they do. I struggled to enjoy either of the main characters, honestly and I wonder if I had "met" them before I would have liked them more.
On the issue of continuity, there is an entire storyline that makes no sense. The author clearly tells us that Max turns her phone off and throws it in the glove box of her rental car, but for the sake of storyline, she's suddenly in her home town calling her BFF to go shopping and then it says she couldn't return Treat's calls and didn't know he called "37 times" because her phone was being sent to her by the car rental company. It's just a storyline for storyline sake, not logical.
I'll read more by this author, likely, but I just won't be picking this one up again.

I fall more in love with love with each Melissa Foster book I read.

This is an amazing love story between Treat Braden and Max Armstrong. They overcome misunderstandings and painful pasts to get to their HEA.

I enjoyed this book. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had read the previous series, and fully understood all the events alluded to in this book. Max is a feisty character and she will be a good match for Treat. Treat has never been in love and I am sure he and Max will have a long and happy future. I really enjoyed the small town feel of this story and look forward to reading more about the Bradens.

This was a very good book. I want to get the rest of the series and read them. I would definitely recommend this book!

I couldn’t continue with this. The main thing that bothers me is that it feels like we are dropped in the middle of the story, AFTER they actually fell in love. It’s like I’m reading a sequel without reading the first part (which in this case doesn't exist). I don’t like that. It’s the reason I avoid second chance romance, since all the romance happens before the story starts. Also, I didn’t particularly like the characters, they were just meh. I got this as a part of a boxed set with the first three books of the series, so I will try and read the next one, since the writing style wasn’t too bad.
