Maddening read. Well written but hard not to shout out loud at some of his experiences.

A very interesting easy read, but I suspected that some of the thoughts were more recent than of the time. If not he was truly a brilliant predictor of the future

As a non Brit it gives an interesting insight into British politics. It did leave me wondering in all democracies as a leader , do we really ever get the best person for the job or just the person who knows the right person to get them there. It seems most in positions of power are only there to make sure they stay there and do not do anything to rock the boat and sadly for the country ( possibly) Rory decided to do what was right not why he was told. Well worth a look

I was never really convinced by the people's assembly thing, but at least it shows he was trying to find a constructive way forward instead of blowing fairy dust out of his arse like Johnson did. If they'd picked him as leader we'd have been spared the last 5 years of torture.

A well-written account of a political career which really makes you despair at the state of modern Britain and the people elected to govern us.

This book reminded me why I oppose the Conservative Party vigorously. If only 50% of what Stewart says is true, the party is amoral, deeply Machiavellian and deeply divided.

I also revised my opinion on Stewart himself. He is a truly conservative One Nation Tory left homeless by a party that has moved to the right.

There is talk of him going to the Labour Party. Having read this book, I can’t see how he would fit there either.

If you would like confirmation that the people at the top don’t have a clue what’s going on, give this a go.

Rory seems like he actually gave a stuff but then again, it’s his book so he would wouldn’t he?

Not my usual type of read and made me realise how much I don’t know about politics. Still able to follow his take through an interesting, if depressing period of British politics.
