Fascinating insights by one the few UK Conservative leaders with integrity. Shocking to see clearly the hollow/shallow/ disingenuous men and women who lead that country in recent times.

Politics on the Edge was a book I've wanted to read for a really long time. I found it a fascinating insight into the political system, particularly during a turbulent time. It was incredibly hard to listen to the rise of Johnson and the cowardice and self-interest of a lot of our MPs but hardly surprising. I found his work in prisons and international aid particularly fascinating. The book itself is well written and whilst there's the occasional bit which is slightly self-grandiose, Stewart can laugh at himself and acknowledge his own weaknesses which is a rare quality in most people, let alone politicians.

I have no experience of political biographies but this one really drew me in, it was a real insight into the UKs political system and I see no political agenda here other than a thesis about the mechanisms of U.K. politics. I learnt a lot.

An insightful book uncovering the inner machinations of British politics. Stewart’s account of his career repeatedly exposes how incredibly inept and insincere many politicians are behind closed doors.
Somewhat sad to see through his eyes the state of decline the Conservative Party has gone through.

Engaging and fascinating peek into the inner workings of the British Parliament. A must-read for any political nerds. I never thought I'd be rooting for a Tory minister, but this book won me over. Also, Boris Johnson sucks!
